Growing up in central Illinois, there’s only a few things that are for certain; learning the necessity of a true work ethic & thinking you were apart of the Hill family. My youth was filled with memories of blue collar craftsmanship & the idea of selling propane & propane accessories.
With this project I felt it to be absolutely necessary to bring my current work back to my roots. I wanted to capture a real workman in his natural environment—the man in these photos is my grandfather, and is the epitome of the hardworking American. That being said, he knows a little something about quality—Carhartt has been a staple in his and my entire family’s wardrobe for over 45 years, so don’t take this has some hipster-hype material.
